Configurations

The TELCOR Point of Care software has many strengths including its hardware independence, the ability for the software to reside on the customer’s chosen hardware and optionally along with other software applications that are also hardware independent.

Single PC/Workstation
In this configuration, all of the components reside on a single piece of hardware which can be shared with other hardware independent applications.  This configuration requires an interactive user and must be running at all times for results to be imported from devices and then sent to the LIS/EMR.  With this configuration, the hardware will probably reside in the clinical area or the Point of Care Coordinator’s (POCC) office.

With this configuration, you can still have multiple access points to the database.  Each of these access points requires a client to be installed.

Client Server for Single or Multi-facility
In this configuration, the Database, Interface and Drivers reside on a workstation or server in IT which requires an interactive user.  In this configuration, the workstation/server requires an interactive user.  One or more PC/workstations in the clinical area(s) can then have the User Interface installed for access to the database.  Though the Interface Server requires an interactive user, the exact same application functions available from the Interface Server are also available from each of the Clients.

This configuration can support one or many facilities, each with their own access point (client).
