TELCOR Releases Web-based Manual Result Entry, the First of the WebLinc Offerings

Lincoln, Nebraska July 20, 2004 - TELCOR announced today the release of WebMRE, a fully configurable browser-based solution for entry of POC manual test results. As a fully integrated add-on module to TELCOR's Quick-Linc® / QML® POCT Information System, WebMRE now allows all POC test results to be available for review and transfer to the LIS. This is the first of the WebLinc modules that provide anywhere access to Quick-Linc/QML data, to be released by TELCOR.

WebMRE is accessible from any PC with a browser. this means not waiting for an available meter, a large screen that easily accommodates a panel with multiple tests such as Urinalysis, and a test menu with options that are completely customer defined. Manual result entry on nursing unit PC's is more consistent with nurse workflow since most nurses already use PC terminals on the patient care floors.

"Manual results like all results should be entered in the EMR and be available for laboratory review and oversight, however there needs to be a simple tool that fits the unique workflow and processes for collection of this data," said Becky Clarke, TELCOR Executive Vice President. "Designed specifically for the non-laboratory operator, WebMRE is just that tool. WebMRE minimizes keystrokes, reduces errors, and simplifies test entry and edits with a single screen display and configurable drop down menus."

WebMRE allows the laboratory to create and define unlimited manual test panels as well as other associated data, such as flags, result options, and test comments. This allows each organization to tailor the system to their individual needs and manual test menu. The results are processed through the POCT Information System, just like any other automated device. WebLinc provides anywhere access via Internet Explorer to Quick-Linc/QML data from any workstation. It includes:

  • QView for real-time status information
  • CertificationQ with operator certification
  • DeviceQ for overdue device uploads
  • ExceptionQ for exception resolution
  • Result Repository for data mining
  • WebMRE for manual result entry

The TELCOR POCT Information System addresses the specialized requirements of POCT. They provide a cost saving way to integrate the data into the Laboratory/Clinical Information System and provide all operator, device, and QC data in a format that reduces the labor needed to monitor and control the POCT program.
